EXISTENTIAL PSYCHOTHERAPY

INVEST IN a More Meaningful Life

“I'm wearing a mask other people don't see behind”

“I’m productive but dead inside”

“I feel like a ghost in my own life”

“I’ve built a life that looks good – but it doesn’t feel like mine”

“I’m stuck in the shame cycle”

“I don’t know who I am anymore”

“Deep down I hate myself”

In a busy world full of demands, it's challenging to pause and reflect on what we truly want from our lives. We have never been more connected, while at the same time, we can feel very disconnected. It’s easy to forget that life is all about relationships – not just with friends, families and partners but with ourselves too.

‘Rethink Your Self’ isn’t about diagnosing or fixing you. It’s about exploring what matters together – looking beyond the headline symptoms of your problems, changing how you relate to yourself and your world, finding your own right answers, choices and possibilities. Over time, clients describe feeling more fully themselves, with clearer direction, deeper relationships and greater self‑respect. It’s about durable change – not sticking plasters.

What is existential psychotherapy?

Existential therapy helps people who feel something is wrong in their lives but often can't quite name what it is or what needs to change. It's not about reducing you to a diagnosis, trying to 'fix' you or pre-supposing there is a right answer or way to be. Instead, the aim is authenticity – making decisions that feel right for you. There’s no pre-determined timeline, template or outcomes – only changes you choose to make and sustain yourself.

It is a deeply personal, philosophical, and relational approach that considers the 'givens' of our lives – those aspects we can’t change – and the areas where we do have the freedom to choose, as well as the need to take responsibility for our decisions.

We explore how you make meaning, choose, relate, work and find belonging. Instead of labels, we look at values and the tensions you carry (freedom, responsibility, identity, spirituality, mortality). We focus on your lived experience in relationships, work and inner life – where change will actually be felt.

We’ll work on your challenges, at your pace, for as long as you want. Sometimes this means sharing your worries for the first time without judgment; sometimes it means re‑shaping who you are and how you want to live the rest of your life, not just how you think.

Who is it for?

It's suitable for anyone seeking clarity and a more authentic way of living, who feels ready to pause and reflect on their experiences, explore deeper aspects of their identity, and consider what the future looks like for them. Some have worked with therapists before, and for others it's the first time.

You might be:

  • Feeling emotionally numb or disconnected, even if life looks fine on the surface

  • Burnt out, overwhelmed or stuck in a cycle of performance and pressure

  • Struggling with self-hatred, shame, issues from the past or compulsive behaviours

  • Navigating grief, loss, or a major life transition

  • Questioning your identity, sexuality, relationships or place in the world

If you're a man navigating these or similar challenges, you can read more about my work with male clients here.
