Working Together

What to expect

Two people working together on a problem — a collaborative, supportive approach

Starting therapy or coaching is a meaningful step. This page covers how we work, what to expect, and how to get started – so there are no surprises.

HOw Sessions Work

Structure:

  • 50-minute sessions, weekly for psychotherapy and every two to three weeks for coaching

  • In person in Clapham and the City of London, or online via MS Teams

  • Psychotherapy is open-ended; coaching is usually shorter-term and goal-focused

Making it straightforward:

I manage the work the way I'd want experience it as a client – with as little friction as possible. You'll receive a recurring calendar invite so sessions are always in your diary, a one-click payment link so paying takes seconds, and a MS Teams video link for online sessions. The admin takes care of itself so we can focus on the work.

Before we begin, I'll send you a short background document explaining how the process works and what to expect in your first session, alongside a simple contract outlining the terms. You'll have the chance to ask questions before we start. Everything is clear from the outset.

Your First Session

This is a chance to explore what brings you here and what you're hoping for. We'll talk about your situation, your goals and how we might work together.

There's no pressure to commit – the most important factor in any successful working relationship is finding someone you feel genuinely comfortable with. The first session is as much for you to get a sense of whether this feels right as it is for us to explore what you need.

How Long Does it Take?

There's no fixed timeline – the work goes at your pace, for as long as you find it useful.

It might be several weeks, a few months, or longer – entirely depending on what you want and what you're getting from it. Some clients take breaks and return when something shifts. There's no minimum commitment and no pressure to continue beyond what feels right.

We'll check in regularly to make sure the work is still aligned with what you need.

In Person or Online?

Both work equally well. Some clients prefer to begin in person; others find online more convenient or comfortable. You're welcome to move between formats as needed.

I provide a video link for all in-person sessions – so if your schedule changes, you can join remotely without missing a session.

Fees and Booking

Full details of current fees and availability are here.

Payment is by bank transfer in advance of each session. The recurring meeting invite includes a one-click payment link direct to your banking app to make this quick and simple.
